King Arthur HSA

You find Lancelot in the main hall of your castle. Although it has been ages since you last stepped foot into the room, you feel as if you have been there just yesterday. You approach Lancelot and wrap him in a large bear hug, but as you pull away to meet his eyes, he diverts away. He looks as if he bears a guilty burden.

" Lancelot,” you ask, “ May I wonder what is wrong with you?”

Lancelot lets a huge sigh and proceeds to tell you that he is infatuated with Guenever, your wife. As he tells you of his sinful deeds, thoughts race through your mind as you realize that Merlin’s prophecy of their affair is unraveling in front of your eyes. Quickly, you settle yourself and meet Lancelot’s eyes with your understanding. Although it is a sin to lust after another’s wife, Lancelot is fated to do so, and you cannot pin the blame on the trustworthy knight. After a while of discussion, you and Lancelot both decide that this prophecy will not get between your relationship with Guenever. With a tearful eye, you send Lancelot off on a string of difficult quests. As you watch him ride away into the night from your grand balcony, you realize that you have started a long struggle between you, Lancelot and Guenever. You silently vow to yourself to keep ignorant of Merlin’s prophecy and delay the inevitable disaster to as long as you can possibly prolong it. But even as you see Lancelot’s back disappear into the dark and starry horizon, you feel as if he had already taken Guenever from you.
