Raven had thought about escape ever since work had been invented. It was impossible. She had tried waaaay too many times then she should have. She dug the fork into the wet muddy soil, trying to unearth the lettuce. She failed and dirt flicked into her eyes. She burst into tears, creating clean marks down her muddy face. Raven used to be brave and strong, but Madame Topaz bought a whip, curse her. Raven liked gardening, with the earth and plants, but this was different.
Through her teary eyes she saw Elm in a bright yellow rain jacket run out to help. Elm had gotten that jacket on her last adopted day, Madame Topaz was mean but everybody still got a adopted day prezi. Last time Lavender got a pencil, Elm got the jacket, Reed a fork, Copper got a pillowcase and Raven got a sunflower head. Elm picked up the lettuce and pulled Raven inside along to the bath. The bath was filled with warm mud by the time they were finished, then just a big rim of mud.
“I’ll clean it” Elm has a thing with water unlike Lavender who is more ‘stoking the fire’ kinda girl. “Copper made some aldaine”(chicken bone liquid)
Raven walked to her bedroom and climbed, (well not climbed she's on the lower bunk, Lavender’s the climbing one) on onto her bed.

That night Raven dreamed of a ivy colored fox, and vines wrapping around a baby Raven, Big Girl Raven screamed, but breath was wasted because one: no sound came out and two: the vines turned to dust. Then it went black then light, Baby Raven was gone.
Raven woke up in tears, and took deep breaths. It was midnight. Escape time?
Do you escape?
