The World After: Chapter One
You hear your own daughter scream. The daughter that you failed. The daughter who has been captured by the police three times, and she was only eight.
You believe everything in the world is going wrong, and this is your chance to start over. You sprint towards the woods.
With each step you hear a crunch of the Autumn leaves. The sun is only now rising over the horizon, so the light was very minimal.
You reach a ten foot fence and eventually decide to take a breather.
A moan comes from behind you.
It is Juliet. But it isn't.
You realize Juliet is long gone. She isn't even alone. Slowly walking with her was the man you saw in the backwoods. Both are covered in holes, blood, and pale skin. What happened to your little girl? Before you even get a chance to process what is happening, you see...nothing.
