The French revolution was mainly caused by the terrible economic conditions that the Third Estate was facing. Immense taxing was enforced on the population because of the King’s extravagant spending and American revolution debts. The situation was quite similar in the Boxer rebellion as farmers had poor living conditions and were always in debt. They blamed their economic conditions on Europeans, which started the revolt.
