Imperialism, the spread of a country’s influence, can cause other countries to lose independence and culture. When China was faced with Europe’s huge colonial expansion and imperialism, it caused disruption in Chinese governments, and they also had to cede land and value to the Europeans. These terms angered chinese citizens, and essentially caused the Boxer Rebellion. The Boxers revolted against foreigners and attempted to rid of all of them.
