Extend the Story - Add a Room

It's 9:30 a.m., and that means it's time for Language Arts again with that crazy teacher, Ms. Hickey. You juggle books, binders, and an instrument case as you approach the door for the inevitable handshake. "Good morning," you mumble, then turn back to your conversation with your neighbor. "I'm telling you, he was there. Cam Newton totally came to my birthday party this weekend. It was awesome."

You sit down at your table and doodle for a minute before glancing up at the warm-up. Before you can get your books out to begin, though, a strange man enters the classroom. "Excuse me," he says, clearing his throat self-importantly. "I understand some students from your class recently entered a contest for a trip to Africa, and I'm here to announce the results!"

"Our judges were so impressed by your entries, they've chosen two of you!"
