Worlds Apart

A look of disappointment crosses the woman's face, but it quickly clears and she nods slowly. "Yes, of course. I can understand your reluctance. I won't attempt to change your mind, because I respect your decision. I'm sure I will find what I'm looking for elsewhere." She gives you the faintest of smiles and then slowly leaves the room, closing the door quietly behind her - though you get the feeling she really wants to slam it.

You never see the woman again. Three weeks later, you find yourself coughing up blood while in class.
