Jesus H. Christ
by

Previous Room
Jesus slowly walks up to the stage. The crowd errupts into apllause and cheers as the announcer says the intro. As Jesus walks up to the microphone hush comes over the spectators. He slings his guitar over his shoulder and signals Peter, his bass player.
The mood is very serine as the music starts. It's a ballad of friendship, love, and loss. The song inspires feelings of sadness and joy almost simultaneously. When the set finishes the audience is awestruck some are actually crying. Jesus walks off stage right before the crowd goes wild demanding more, but he never gives an encore.
After the show he heads up to Judas' office. The man wasn't in quite yet but he spent half his life in the too posh office so he knew it wouldn't take long. The office was piled with paper work which was strewn all over the office. A fifteen thousand dollar desk with no filing cabinet in sight Jesus mused to himself.
When Judas finally appeared he had his phone stuck to his ear giving one word replies to whomever was on the other line. Jesus tried to speak up but Judas raised one finger to postpone him from talking. The "uh-huhs" and the "yeahs" kept on for another five minutes as Jesus waited patiently.
"Now what did you want to talk about?" Judas asked while lighting an expensive Honduran cigar.
Jesus lights one his own cigarettes and casually says "I'm not going to be playing for a while. I got some stuff to take care of."
Judas was taken back "If it's more money that's not a problem. If you need a loan just tell me."
Jesus silently chuckles a bit at the notion that he was leaving for financial reasons "No, nothing lie that. I just need a week or two to handle some personal affairs."
"Alright." Judas says the irritation barely showing. "There might be space when you come back but no gaurantees."
Jesus nods his head in acknowledgment (Knowing full well Judas would never turn down the following that he had) walked out.
Seeing the look on Jesus' face Pablo went and fetched the car. Jesus was quiet and solemn on the ride home which was not characteristically like him after a show.
