The Zombie Apocalypse

You find the local supermarket still closed. Bloody Mary helps you again as you remove the deadbolt from the access door at the back. Once inside, you blockade the door. You quickly realize the place is completely deserted.

You spend several days in the store, eating well and with all the amenities a person could want. You pass the days by playing electronic darts in the toy department or grilling some steaks in the lawn and garden section. At night, you struggle to sleep through the nightmares as the walking dead moan and claw at the doors, struggling to get in.

After a time, the power goes out. Your days are not as bright and the refrigerated food soon spoils. You are reduced to surviving on canned goods. And eventually dry dog food.

You lose track of time. You get used to the moans of dead outside. Even the florescent lights no longer give you a headache.

You had hoped someone would come for you. Someone would search for survivors. But they never do.
