IWT5- The Sneeze
"Do you smell...pepper?"
Rod lifted himself off of the couch, and looked around the room. Anna was right- clouds of pepper were billowing into the room.
"Call me crazy," he said, "but it looks like it's coming from the electrical outlets. But that doesn't make any...any...achoo!"
"Bless you!" said Anna, quickly, covering her nose with the collar of her shirt. The two of them hurridly rearranged their clothes, Anna running outside first, with Rod following close behind her. To their horror, the entire sidewalk was covered in billowing clouds of pepper. Kids playing outside sneezed, and then formed shambling mobs as patrolled up and down the street, their red eyes shining through the black haze. Cars were stopped along the roadside as all of the people inside quickly abandoned them to join the patrols.
Rod and Anna turned around, but the pepper coming from their house was too strong. They could barely breathe, let alone speak the words "Bless You". They ran down the street toward the commercial district, but the mayhem was even worse.
"It's like some sort of bizarre zombie movie," noted Rod, talking through his jacket. "Except really, really stupid." The pepper formed a loose smog that obscured their vision. All that could be seen were silhouettes and glowing red eyes. They stopped running when they heard a familiar voice behind them.
"Do you like what I've done with the town?" Jaik'nob stood before them, with minions at his side. He appeared exactly as he had before, with one noticable exception. He was wearing a paisley bandana to cover his nose and mouth from the pepper. "I can't help but notice that you're trying to resist my power. I hate it when my minions try and resist my power." Jaik'nob snapped his fingers, and two of his minions stepped forward, gripping Rod and Anna in an armlock. Jaik'nob stepped forward and pulled the cloth away from their faces.
The pepper formed clouds too thick to speak without coughing, and they couldn't help but sneeze. There was no choice but to be possessed alongside the rest of the town.
All was darkness.
