"Z, we still need to go after the new killer" said Kazuo. "Yes, you're right... Good bye, Near" said Z, walking away from the fountain towards the helicopter. Z started the helicopter and took off. "We'll need more help though Kazuo" said Z, as they flew towards L's investigation building.
A few hours later they arrived at L's investigation building, they got out of the helicopter and walked towards the elevator. "Kazuo, the note should have arrived go get it while I contact our help" said Z, when the elevator doors opened at the level the investigation room was on. The doors closed after Z walked out of the elevator and Kazuo pressed the button for the ground floor. "Keh keh keh keh keh! So what are you going to do now?" asked Ryuk, who just dropped into the elevator from the roof. "Go to Z, you should be following him, remember?" said Kazuo. "Alright then" said Ryuk, flying up through the roof of the elevator.
The elevator doors opened at the ground floor and Kazuo got out of the elevator. There was a small investigation team waiting just past the security door. Kazuo opened the door. "Can I have that note now?" asked Kazuo. "We're part of an investigation team for Z, I'll give the note to him myself" said an old man with a large scar on the left side of his face. Kazuo looked above the old man's head, reading his name. "Interesting" thought Kazuo. "Alright, pass through the security and follow me up to the investigation room" said Kazuo. "Do we need to turn off our phones" asked another member of the team. "Uh...Yes turn them off and leave them in the security room there" said Kazuo.
After they had all past through the security, Kazuo led them to the elevator and they traveled up to the investigation room. "Good, Kazuo this is my new investigation team" said Z, when they entered the investigation room. "How many of these teams does he have?" thought Kazuo. "There's only three people in this team though and none of them are actually with a police force, but they do have the skills needed, but they'll only be going by code names to try to keep themselves safe" said Z. "I see" said Kazuo. "The old guy there with the scar is M, the guy next to him is A, and the last person is Y" said Z. Kazuo looked above the faces of each person.
"A is Akihiro Mastuda, Y is Yumiko Yagami, interesting" thought Kazuo. "Z, you don't need to give me a stupid code name like that" said M. "I thought it would be better" said Z. "I doubt anyone would even recognize my old code name" said M. "Fine, use it then" said Z. "Good, just call me Mello" said Mello. "What about the note?" asked Kazuo. "I have it right here" said Mello, handing the note to Z. "Great...." said Z. "What's wrong?" asked Y. "It's a puzzle" said Z. "Heh! Near would have loved that" said Mello. "I'll give you all a copy of it each, this way we can all work on it faster" said Z, photocopying the note in the fake Death Note.
When it was finished Z handed one copy to everyone. "Let's make it a competition" said Z.

do with your note, write for personal gain and keep the power for yourself, good idea? No, it is
likely Kira will hunt you down and give that power to one more worthy. Is Kira a god? No, however
unlikely it sounds, Kira is just a person with a strong sense of justice and the note to aid him, if you hide your true self,
carefully, from the world and use the power of the shinigami you are
Kira.

"So what does it mean?" asked A. "iaml goodluck IWASATLEAST" said Kazuo, reading only the highlighted parts. "Yes, I think it means 'I am L' 'Good luck' 'I WAS AT LEAST'. It's doesn't seem in order, but if I move the parts around it changes to 'I am L, I was at least. Good luck'" said Z. "That doesn't help us find who it is" said M. Z put the book front cover down, then noticed something on the back. "BB1313" said Z, reading the back of the book. "You mean BB from that case about the BB murders, that I wrote a book about to make everyone know how great L was" said M. "M, you aren't Mello, get over it" yelled Z, Ryuk was laughing M looked sad.
"What was that about?" asked Y. "M was like the other orphans, but he was a back up for Mello. In fact, he wanted to be Mello. He even ran away from the orphanage and when he found out Mello got that scar, he burned himself to get the same scar. He's obviously obsessed, and the fact they, coincidentally, have the same name doesn't help" said Z. "I see" said Y.
