"Gizou, I have an idea. I need you to quickly fly to PIPOr and tell her what we just learnt about their plan" said Kazuo. "Hmm.. Yes, I'll tell you later then" said Gizou. "Also make sure to tell her to hide all of her anime stuff and to pretend to not like anime" said Kazuo. "Keh keh keh keh keh! Do you think that will work?" asked Ryuk. "I'm not sure, but it's better than doing nothing" said Kazuo, as Gizou flew away.
"Kazuo does this mean you are all by yourself now, with no help at all. Keh keh keh keh keh! Your friends are all pushed away from the misfortune of the Death Note" said Ryuk. "No, this plan will counter Z's plan, I'll be still able to contact PIPOr as much as before" said Kazuo, as he started walking towards the train station. "What about the other person you made Kira? Who are they, I want to know already" said Ryuk. "Heh, I won't tell you anything about that, except that you'll find out when the entire investigation team is gone" said Kazuo. "Fine" said Ryuk, as they continued walking towards the train station. When they got to the train station Sagara was waiting for them. "Good I found you" said Sagara. "You were looking for me? Why didn't you just call me?" said Kazuo, holding up his phone. "Something isn't right, this looks like it might be a trap" thought Kazuo.
"Why were you looking for me? Did something happen?" asked Kazuo. "Yes, there was an explosion the entire building is gone" said Sagara. "I didn't hear an explosion, I'll just have to go along with it for now, it's obviously a trap" thought Kazuo. "Really? Is everyone ok?" asked Kazuo. "Everyone except Z, he got hurt badly" said Sagara. "Heh, I knew it; a trap. It all depends on my reaction, if I'm too apathetic, I'm definitely kira, not good enough Z" thought Kazuo. "Where is he now? Is he going to be alright?" asked Kazuo. "Keh keh keh keh keh! Even I believed that one, Kazuo" said Ryuk. "He's in the hospital, I'll take you there now" said Sagara, opening a car door. "He probably guessed I would react that way, this is still his trap, but if I don't go i'm dead" thought Kazuo, as he got in the car.
"Z, how are you feeling?" asked Kazuo, when he entered Z's room in the hospital. "Heh, pretending, if he were hurt from an explosion that high up in the building, those bandages on his head would mean he would be knocked out, yet he looks as if nothing happened at all" thought Kazuo. "I've been better" said Z, playing a DS. "Did you find Ai, Near?" asked Z. "No, I couldn't find her" said Near. "She left before me, how could she be injured?" asked Sagara. "She couldn't, it was all a plan to determine if any of you were Kira" said Z, closing the DS. "What? I thought you trusted us" said Sagara. "Assuming and knowing are very different things" said Z, pointing the stylus at Sagara.
"The plan was to get Sagara to find Kazuo, I monitored secretly, if Kazuo died Sagara is Kira; also if Sagara died Kazuo is Kira. The plan was the same for Near and Ai, but Near couldn't find Ai. I was also monitoring that as well. This means that Ai, is most certainly Kira" said Z, taking off the bandage on his head. "Keh keh keh keh keh! That plan didn't work" said Ryuk. "No, the trap is still working, this is a fake plan. It's too risky for something as important as finding Kira. This plan, was just a part of his trap" though Kazuo. "Well, It's good you don't think we're Kira anymore, isn't that right Kazuo?" said Sagara. "Yes, now we can catch Kira" said Kazuo.
"I wouldn't doubt, Ai missing isn't part of his plan" thought Kazuo. "Keh keh keh keh keh! You can't kill any of them without dieing, can you Kazuo?" said Ryuk. "He's right, maybe" thought Kazuo.
"You can all go now, the other plan to catch the second Kira is still going, we'll go after Ai, when she shows up tomorrow after we meet" said Z. "Keh keh keh keh keh! This plan is so interesting, the Kira would have no idea" said Ryuk. "He's right, again" thought Kazuo, walking out of the hospital. "Keh keh keh keh keh! Do you think they'll catch PIPOr and wreck your plan Kazuo?" said Ryuk, as they walked into the station. "You're forgetting that you have no idea who the third Kira is" said Kazuo. "Keh keh keh keh keh! So you think you chose the best person for it?" said Ryuk. "What makes you sure there is only one Ryuk" said Kazuo, as he got on the train.
Gizou dropped in through the roof of the train as it left. "I told PIPOr about the plan" said Gizou. "Good, now tell me about what you learned" said Kazuo. "Z has a lot of back up. Near revived what they called Whammy's house, only now it's called Near's house" said Gizou. "What's that?" asked Kazuo. "Whammy's house was an orphanage, the one L, Near and Z came from. It trains orphans to be successors to L, but only extremely smart ones. From what I've learnt they might not be such a threat, some can't take the pressure and kill themselves, but one thing is for certain; there's about 24 possible back ups" said Gizou. "What? They each use a letter from the alphabet as a code name?" said Kazuo. "Yes, except L" said Gizou.
"So my hidden opponents are A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X and Y" said Kazuo. "How am I going to beat that, I'll have no names or faces the Death Note won't work.... or will it?" thought Kazuo. "You look like you have an idea Kazuo" said Gizou. "Yes, one name then they're all gone" said Kazuo. "I see" said Gizou.
