"I keep the spell a secret." replies the Elder "because once a soul has passed to a new body, that body could be in any place, at any time. It would be nearly impossible to find it. Our people could not bear the pain of remembering their lost loves and lives."
"Then why are you telling me?" you ask. "You are a special case." says the Elder. "There is nothing and no one for you here. All those you have ever known or loved are gone. If you are brave I will cast the spell on you so that you too will remember your past, and then you will be able to look for them. Of course, they may not recognize you when you find them. Are you brave enough to try?"
