The Metal Princess by gingerdreamland
Sara watched her father's eyes stare glumly at the ceiling. Wait for tests? Is that it?
They'd put metal in her arms, legs and face. Her face! Her prize posession. Without her permission.
Without missing a beat, Sara threw the covers from her body and stood up quickly. She back away from the glass doors that seperated her from the rest of the world, and ran straight through, expecting the shards of broken glass to cut through her skin.
But of course, it wasn't flesh and bone anymore, just metal.

Rather than being a mediocre hospital, the whole place was a maze, a labrynth, full of complicated science labs. Sara kept running...her new metal legs carried her much faster than her old ones, and she quickly left any pursuers behind.
Sara stopped for breath, and glanced at her surroundings. She started when she saw a sign:
CARDONDALE BIOTECHNICS LABORATORY.
Was she some kind of guinea pig?
Sara kept running, not stopping for breath, until she found an exit into an alleyway of a busy city.
From the outside, the laboratory looked like a normal building. Sara kept running, but at a normal pace, trying to blend in. It was hard.
Go see what she looks like with a metal face!
