Extend the Story - Add a Room

Kingdom Stance by michaelrayholt
You quickly wave a rush of energy that turns to water from your arms, directing it squarely at the fireball. Torrents of liquid ensue, completely dousing the rapidly incoming payload.

While that takes care of the fire, the missile itself still finds its mark... the young mother and child. The mother, careful to put herself between her child and the ball in order to best protect him, instead dooms him to the grave when the payload crushes her weight and its against the lad. His neck and back broken, he is killed instantly.

The mother, knocked unconscious, is unaware that you are standing over them, mouth agape, astounded at your inability to save them both. You rush to the mother's side and lay your hands upon her to bring her about.

With a sudden gasp, she awakens, only to find her bloodied son in her arms - the one you can't save. Your WaterTaming can't hold back her tears, and even though she should know you've done your best, she runs away grief-stricken - carrying the broken fruit of her womb in her arms.

You rouse yourself as only the wisdom of years can train you to do, and look toward the outer wall. How can you best still help?
Mount the battlements and take a position of offense - perhaps your WaterTaming can turn the tide of the battle.
