Extend the Story - Add a Room

Life After Life by mevergreen
"Knowledge is more valuable then most people will ever understand," the old woman said, pride filling her voice. "It is a long path you will travel. Journey along the path behind you and find the temple of the triple goddess. There you will learn your first lesson."

I turned to see the path, narrow and made of white sand. I was certain it hadn't been there before, but there it was. It seemed wrong, but so did the disembodied voices. I felt like I had to know more about how things worked before making any other decisions. I took a step onto the path.

"May you find what you seek child," the elderly woman said. I walked the path for many hours I was sure, before I began to feel tired and hungry. Who knew you could get hungry after death. What should I do about it? I began watching for berries or fruit on trees or something.

"So, what do I do for food?" I thought perhaps one of the women would answer me but no one did. Another several hours found my agonizingly thirsty.
I wandered off the path looking for food and water.
