Zodiac: Choices

"Oh..." says Valerie, clicking her tongue. "That sucks to be you, man. We're all booked up this weekend. Big meteorologist convention in town."

You try to ignore the irony that a weatherman convention in town falls on the same week of the worst weather in New Mexican recent history.

"Is there nothing you can do?" you ask, utilizing those big sexy brown eyes to their full advantage.

"You can go down the highway thirty miles and try your luck at that hell-hole," says Valerie with a somewhat genuinely sadisitic smirk.

"We'll pay double," says Knox with his baritone voice.

Valerie raises her eyebrow. That's when you notice her aura is reading a little shifty.

"That won't be necessary," you tell Knox before turning to look back at Valerie. "You have a room available," you say, locking eyes with her.

"No, sir, we do n~"

"You're saving a room," you tell her. "For yourself."

"How dare~"

"It's against company policy," you tell her. "That's why you were so nervous. Isn't it? Your boyfriend was going to be stopping by during your break and you two were going to sneak away for a little fun and games, huh?"

"Excus~"

"We'll be taking that room," you say with a smile.

"You think so, huh?" she says in protest.

"I know so," you tell her with confidence. "If we don't get a room, then my next call is to your boss."

Valerie lets out a long sigh. "Fine... Room 19," she says, tossing you the keys.
