Hall of Infinite Doors

"Please, tree, may I have some of your fruit?" you ask. The tree just sits there and laughs at you. At least you think the tree is laughing at you. Can trees laugh? I know I've heard them sing before. You laugh at yourself for thinking that a tree could understand what you're saying at all but you are still hungry.
