The Werewolf Chronicles

A sliver of humanity runs through you and you let out a scream. The inhuman howl of the wolf fills the air and with that whatever control it had is shaken.

You are not the wolf.

The door opens a crack, then quickly shuts. Moments later you hear the pad of socked feet make their way down the stairs.

Ben is safe.

Alien fury rips through you; its potency chilling you to the core. Like an audience member you watch as you cleave the chains from the wall.

With speed unknown to you, you cross the room and ram down the door.

In your excitement you decimate part of your wall and upend your desk, sending the camera shattering towards the floor.

From the landing you see your sister and nephew dart to the open front door.

Terrified you try to wrestle control over the wolf but its no use... one moment you stare your sister in the eye, watching as her grip on the world loosens.

The next you have her pinned underneath you as your jaws close around her neck.
The wolf takes a second to savour the bones of its prey. Then it feels the cool breeze of the nights air and takes in the smell of the quiet city streets.

A muffled cry brings the beast out of its contemplation and it sizes up its next meal.

You recover enough strength too scream at Ben trying to instill a primal flight response, but the child has frozen.

Again you watch as you stalk towards the child, your heart seizing in anguish as you prepare to witness the murder of another loved one.

But Ben's a smart child, no sooner had the wolf got within arm's reach than you felt a horrifying pain stab your side.

You rear back letting out an tortured cry.

Shocked you stare down and see a necklace with a small silver cross clutched in your nephew's hand.

Relief washes through you as surely as anger mounts in the wolf.

Your cheer is short lived; the wolf pounces regardless.

Pain once again courses through you but the wolf has succeeded in its task.

Ben lies unconscious and bleeding profusely.
