She found the article again without trouble, and read through it.

Apparently the villagers had stumbled across an ancient underground cavern, sustained through some sort of unknown magic or technology while in the process of trying to mine the mineral rich fields.

Within the cavern they had found an object that seemed not unlike a golem; a creature made of inanimate objects and somehow made animate through means of magic.

However, no matter what the villagers had tried, they could not seem to activate it, and finally gave up, leaving it where it stood in the ancient underground caverns.

This had been so long ago, that the mineral rich fields the entry in the record spoke of, was no longer rich in minerals. Fernsdale had mined its land dry over five generations ago, and the entries surrounding the one Jezirea was reading spoke of only the first stages of preparation towards mining.

Quickly, she flipped through the town's record book back to present date; glancing at each page briefly. She found no re-occurring mention of the golem, which meant there was a small chance that it still stood where the town's people had left it.

This could be good, but there were a few things to take in to consideration. Most of the golems that she had seen, and especially those that were actually worth anything, were extremely large. If she couldn't activate it, then she might end up stuck with an object she couldn't move, and therefor couldn't sell.

On the other hand, if she could activate it, then it could be dangerous. Just because you could activate something didn't necessarily mean you could control it. Perhaps more research would be a good idea.

Even though there hadn't been anymore entries on the subject, it was unlikely that the villagers had forgotten about it, even if the site had been blocked off. This only made it more appealing to young boys who fancied themselves brave explorers.
