Heroes in a Half Shell

You figure that the hyperspeed will probably be the most beneficial to the team. The hoverboard would probably be broken in a few days by Michelangelo anyway. And the LSD is just asking for an increase in criminal activities.

You set to work, scanning over your notes. The last two times you tried this the laboratory was blown to kingdom come. But that won't happen this time, you tell yourself. You know what you're doing this time. You won't make the same mistakes.

You set to work mixing various chemical compounds together in a few beakers. You heat some of them up and cool others down before mixing more. You dilute some of the chemicals in water, others you steam and collect only the spirits, allowing the steam to cool in a series of tubes which drip onto another beaker at the far end.

You wipe the sweat from your brow and take the two necessary beakers over to the sink area. Slowly, cautiously you pour the contents of one into the other and grimace as you notice it start to bubble and foam. Shit. It's going to happen again. Just like before.

You set the chemical mixture down and run for the door as you hear the sizzling intensify behind you. Pulling the door open, you rush out into the dojo area where Leo and Raph practice thier skills and Splinter meditates in the corner.

"Take cover!!" You yell to them as you rush past.

"Damn it all, not again!" Leonardo scolds you, falling into step behind you.

BOOOOOOM!!!

You are thrown to the ground from the force of the blast while the sewer tunnels tremble all around you.

After a few moments taking shelter you peak around your arms and notice thankfully that the tunnels have not collapsed. Master Splinter is standing over you with an angry look on his face. You smile weakly up at him.

"You were trying the hyperspeed potion again, weren't you?" He asks. You nod. He shakes his head.

"Come walk with me." He tells you as you stand up and wipe the dirt and grime from your knees. Raphael looks pissed, but he tends to have a quick temper. Leonardo looks disappointed.

Great, you think, now you're going to have to hear another one of master Splinters lectures about priorities. He just doesn't seem to understand the potential gain that the hyperspeed formula offers.
